The Post-Doctoral Residency at UFMG is regulated by Resolution 02/2017 of May 23, 2017, from the University Council. It involves the development of research and extension activities by holders of a Doctorate degree, on a full-time basis.

According to Article 2 of the aforementioned Resolution, candidates interested in applying for the Post-Doctoral Residency must submit the following documentation to the Graduate Course Board in their area of interest:

I – application form, in the model provided by the Graduate Program;

II – copy of the Doctorate diploma or document proving the completion of the Doctorate;

III – work plan detailing all proposed activities, with the approval of the indicated supervisor, who must be an accredited faculty member in the Graduate Course;

IV – curriculum vitae generated by the Lattes Platform of CNPq, or, in the case of foreign candidates, a printed curriculum.

It is the candidate’s responsibility to obtain the necessary approvals required by applicable legislation for the execution of research activities.

A candidate for the Post-Doctoral Residency whose application is approved by the Graduate Course Board will be linked to UFMG through Academic Registration in the Post-Doctoral Residency and enrollment in the activity “Post-Doctoral Project Development.”

After the approval of their final activity report, the post-doctoral resident may request a certificate from the secretariat of the course in which they completed their residency. The secretariat will process the request to the Pro-Rectory of Graduate Studies, which will issue the document.

Academic enrollment of the post-doctoral resident will be performed by the DRCA, by sending the following documents to the Course Secretary:
• Communication informing the name(s) of the new resident(s) and forwarding of due documentation;
• Pos-Doctorate Training Enrollment Request Form (available at: https://www2.ufmg.br/drca/drca/Home/Pos-Graduacao/Registro-de-Residencia-Pos-Doutoral). This form is individual (one for each future resident) and must be completed in full by the secretary and by the future resident, including the signatures of both;
• Identification document (if the resident is a foreigner, he/she must present a copy of the identification page and page with VISA of his/her passport, and, if applicable, his/her Foreigner’s Identity Card (CIE), issued by the Brazilian Federal Police);
• CPF (Brazilian Tax Identification Number);
• Ph.D. diploma or equivalent document that proves the candidate has duly concluded the doctoral course (documents that inform the need to present the final corrected version of one’s doctoral dissertation as a condition to receive the title of Ph.D. will not be accepted);
• Proof of residence in Brazil.
